Today we celebrate the World Day for Social Justice, to promote equality, solidarity and inclusion in a context where many social challenges still need to be addressed.
Social justice is, according to the United Nations, “based on equal rights for all people and the possibility for all human beings without discrimination to benefit from economic and social progress throughout the world.”
CAMELEON’s actions for a better social justice
Whether through education, access to health, employment, or economic development, each of us has a role to play in promoting social justice. It’s a commitment to build a world where every individual has access to equitable opportunities, where everyone’s rights are respected, and where human dignity is protected. It is a call to action to eliminate poverty, exclusion, discrimination and other forms of injustice that hinder social progress.
CAMELEON works in the Philippines to support young people from disadvantaged backgrounds by helping them complete their education and find a job. As an extension of this action, we also offer parents in rural communities technical and professional training with the implementation of income-generating projects.
